The Tata LPK 912 is the bigger version of the LPK 407 and has better features on offer. As for an example, it has a bigger and better 3.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that is capable of making a maximum power of 123.3 bhp at 2,400 rpm, along with a peak torque of 400 Nm at just 1,300 rpm. As for the transmission, there is the same 5-speed manual unit doing the duties.
The LPK 912 has 100 litres of fuel tank capacity and can hit a top speed of 80 kmph. It has a ground clearance of 217 mm and a great gradeability of 40%. The full body has a chassis and cabin, which can be tilted as well. However, it has a gross vehicle weight of 9.6 tonnes.
It has a power steering with tilt and telescopic function and a driver’s information display. It is suspended over semi-elliptic leaf springs for both the axles. The braking is done by air brakes instead of the hydraulic unit of the 407. Parking brakes and tubeless tyres are offered as standard too. However, the addition of ABS would have completed the package.
